Purple Hydrangeas & Plums

Fall Brunch (Sold)

Hydrangeas are one of my favorite still life subjects. I loved the combination of fall flowers mixed with copper and deep green of the Hungarian goblet. (In the collection of Dr. Karen L. Laugel)

Grape Hyacinth (Sold)

In this painting, the silver teapot has such an amazing amount of detail designed into it that I couldn't resist purchasing it at an antique show in New Hampshire. When teamed with the small silver creamer, grape hyacinth and scalloped linen, it created a fresh arrangement that pleased my eye. (Private Collection)

Peach Blush

To create texture on the peaches so that they appear fuzzy required a very dry brush technique. Combining that with the appearance of water droplets was an entertaining challenge. This is what I love most about painting still life!

Victorian Lilacs (Sold)

Teaming lavendar lilacs with the high gloss of this period silver coffee pot were the inspiration behind this painting. The challenge of a multitude of tiny lavendar petals and the white on white of the drapery made this a very intensive study for my watercolor technique. (Private collection)
